Note biografiche e bibliografia di Russ Winterbotham
Russell Robert Winterbotham, nato a Salina nel Kansas il 1° agosto 1904 e morto a Bay Village il 9 giugno 1971, è stato un giornalista e uno scrittore americano di opuscoli didattici, romanzi western, polizieschi e fantascienza. iniziò a pubblicare fantascienza con il racconto The Star that Would not Behave che apparve sulla rivista Astounding nell'agosto del 1935, e fu un prolifico contributore alle riviste di SF prima della seconda guerra mondiale. Per un periodo negli anni '40 collaborò con la Whitman Publishing Company scrivendo almeno sessanta Big Little Books, inclusa la sequenza Maximo the Amazing Superman firmata con il nome di penna R.R. Winterbotham. |

Dopo un periodo di inattività dovuto al conflitto mondiale, ritornò a scrivere fantascienza pubblicando The Space Egg nel marzo del 1958 su Amazing, The Other World del 1963 e Planet Big Zero del 1964.
Ha firmato molte delle sue opere con diversi pseudonimi come J. Harvey Bond, R.R. Botham, Franklin Hadley, Russ Winterbotham, Ross Winterbotham e Rus Winterbotham.
