Note biografiche e bibliografia di Mary Soon Lee
Mary Soon Lee, nata a Londra nel 1965 è una poetessa e una scrittrice inglese di fantascienza ora naturalizzata americana. Sin dalla tenera età ha amto la fantascienza e il fantasy: in particolar modo adorava leggere le opere di Ursula K. Le Guin e Robert A. Heinlein. Laueata in matematica e diplomata in informatica all'Università di Cambridge ha inoltre conseguito un Master of Science in Astronautics and Space Engineering presso la Cranfield University. Nel 1990 si è trasferita negli Stati Uniti dove ha iniziato a scrivere sceneggiature televisive e racconti: Gift, il suo primo racconto di fantascienza è stato pubblicato sulla rivista Strange Days nell'autunno 1992.

Deve la maggior parte della sua notorietà alla serie The Sign of the Dragon che comprende una serie di poesie Fantasy aventi come protagonisti i draghi. Il tutto compone una saga epica di oltre 300 pezzi, un enorme romanzo in versi, che le è valso il primo posto ai Rhysling Awards per la poesia fantastica nella categoria Long nel 2014 e nella categoria Short nel 2018 oltre a altre nomination in diverse occasioni.
Lo stesso dicasi per le raccolte di poesie di Crowned The Sign Of The Dragon Book 1 e Elemental Haiku che si sono classificate rispettivamente al primo posto nel 2016 e al secondo nel 2020 agli Elgin Awards.
