Richard Paul Russo - Biografia
Richard Paul Russo, nato a San José in California l'11 dicembre 1954, è uno scrittore americano di fantascienza. Il suo primo racconto di genere, Firebird Suite, è stato pubblicato sulla rivista Amazing Stories nel 1981 mentre solo 7 anni dopo è apparso il suo primo romanzo Inner Eclipse. In quest'opera dai tratti fortemente suggestivi, viene narrata la ricerca di un'intelligenza esterna in un mondo la cui industria principale è la produzione di una droga ricreativa estremamente pericolosa, con il protagonista che vuole abbandonare l'umanità per trovare rifugio presso gli alieni. Russo ha poi vinto nel 1989 il Premio Philip K. Dick con il romanzo Subterranean Gallery, con il quale è stato anche finalista al Premio Arthur C. Clarke, e si è ripetuto nel 2001 con Ship of Fools. |
