Rachel Swirsky, nata a San Jose, in California il 14 aprile 1982 è una editrice, poetessa, saggista, curatrice e scrittrice americana di letteratura, fantasy e fantascienza. Laureata all'Università della California Santa Cruz e all'Iowa Writers Workshop, ha insegnato scrittura fantascientifica e fantasy mentre era assistente didattico presso l'Università dell'Iowa e nel 2005, ha frequentato il seminario per scrittori di Clarion West. Fondatrice del podcast PodCastle ed è stata editrice dal 2008 al 2010 e nel 2013 è stata vicepresidente di Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. Scrive saggi critici, recensioni e ha donato alcuni suoi racconti a antologie pubblicate per beneficenza. |

Nel 2009 il romanzo A Memory of Wind è stato finalista ai Nebula Awards mentre Eros, Philia, Agape ha ricevuto una nomination per il premio Hugo, il Theodore Sturgeon Award, il Locus Award. Il racconto The Lady Who Plucked Red Flowers Beneath the Queen’s Window ha vinto nel 2010 il premio Nebula e il racconto If You Were a Dinosaur, My Love ha rivinto lo stesso premio nel 2013.
Numerose le nomination ricevute come altrettanto numerose le pubblicazioni nelle riviste del settore o all'interno delle migliori antologie annuali delle storie brevi di Rachel che ha ottenuto successo anche con la poesia.
