Brooke Bolander è una scrittrice americana di genere fantasy e di fantascienza. Ha studiato storia e archeologia all’Università di Leicester nel periodo 2004-2007 e ha frequentato il Clarion Writers’ Workshop nel 2011. La carriera di scrittrice è iniziata con il racconto Trickster Blues apparso sulla rivista Reflection's Edge di ottobre 2008, e in seguito suoi racconti sono stati pubblicati su riviste del settore come Tor.com Lightspeed, Strange Horizons, Uncanny, e altri canali di divulgazione del fantastico. And You Shall Know Her by the Trail of Dead è stato finalista al Premio Hugo, al Premio Nebula e al Locus Award 2016 come miglior romanzo, oltre ad essere stato incluso nell'antologia The Year's Best Science Fiction & Fantasy: 2016. |  |
Brooke ha firmato alcuni dei suoi lavori con lo pseudonimo RoboNinja e gran parte delle sue storie, direttamente o indirettamente, vedono una gamma di animali personaggi, se non addirittura protagonisti, della trama quasi a sfidare la presunzione dell'Homo Sapiens che oltre a voler governare il pianeta Terra, ritiene di essere l'unico attore indiscusso al mondo.
