Pamela Sargent - Biografia
Pamela Sargent, nata a Ithaca nello stato di New York il 20 marzo 1948, è un'editrice e una scrittrice americana di fantascienza. Ha frequentato la State University di New York a Binghamton, dove ha conseguito un master in filosofia classica e ha insegnato fino al 1971. Il suo primo racconto di fantascienza Landed Minority, è stato pubblicato nel settembre del 1970 sulla rivista The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction e nei suoi primi anni come scrittrice è stata parecchio prolifica nella narrativa breve. Con il racconto Danny Goes to Mars pubblicato nell'ottobre 1992 sulla rivista Azimov ha vinto il premio Nebula. |

Pamela Sargent ha scritto Venus, una trilogia riguardante la colonizzazione di Venere, che spesso viene paragonata alla Trilogia di Marte di Kim Stanley Robinson pur avendola scritta alcuni anni prima. Ha anche curato diverse antologie per celebrare i contributi delle donne alla storia della fantascienza e, oltre a essere nota per aver scritto storia alternativa e per aver collaborato con George Zebrowski a quattro romanzi di Star Trek.
