Dean Benjamin Jr. McLaughlin, nato ad Ann Arbor nel Michigan il 22 luglio 1931, è uno scrittore americano di Fantascienza. Figlio dell'astronomo Dean B. McLaughlin, deve la sua notorietà al racconto Hawk Among the Sparrows del 1968 che è stato nominato sia per l'Hugo Award che per il Nebula Award come miglior racconto. Ha utilizzato anche lo pseudonimo Deam MacLuaghin.
